A few years back when I first visited Kohta Circus it was a super secret site known only to its discoverer Bob Ashbaugh, the BLM, and a privileged few. Now there is a sanction trail and parking area. With a Google search, along with Google Earth you can find several websites giving driving directions and GPS coordinates for Kohta Circus and other sites in the area.
Kohta Circus is made up of an upper and lower panel, and in both you can see a Puebloan influence in the rock art. The upper panels are approximately 30’ to 40’ above ground level and are in pristine condition. The lower panel is at ground level and is approximately 75’ long. If time allows, on the hike back to your vehicle keep your eyes open for several other small sites in the sandstone not far from the trail.
